My name is Dan Draper and I am an assistant principal at the Jackson Area Career Center. This will be my third year at the Career Center and look forward to a great 2016-17 school year. I finished my 10th year in education at Hanover-Horton High School where I taught numerous math classes, a pre-engineering class, and biology. I previously was the athletic director/ assistant principal for 2.5 years and the high school principal for 1.5 years. I am currently the head coach for the boys/girls varsity track and field teams.
I grew up on a dairy farm in southern Michigan and attended Alma College where I majored in mathematics and minored in natural science. While at Alma, I also competed in track and field for four years and football for one year. I completed my master's degree at Eastern Michigan University in curriculum and instruction. Siena Heights University was where my next degree came from in the form of a specialist degree in educational leadership. I enjoyed my time at Hanover-Horton and hope for many more wonderful years at the Career Center. My main goal for each student is that they leave with a well-rounded education and are a complete person.
